Event Description:
The Des Moines Committee on Foreign Relations is pleased to announce the first evening in our 2018-2019  Speakers Series on Tuesday, September 25th.  Our special guest is Matthew Rooney, former Consul General in Munich and Counselor for Economic and Commercial Affairs at the US Embassy in El Salvador.  He joined the George W. Bush Presidential Center in 2015 and currently serves as Managing Director of the Bush Institute - SMU Economic Growth Initiative. 

The meeting will be held at the Wakonda Club, with a meet-and-greet speaker's reception from 5:30pm-6:15pm, during which time heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served.  Mr. Rooney will begin his presentation at 6:15pm, and a question and answer session will be held immediately after.  Tickets are $25 for members and guests - with special student discounts available.
