Event Description:
The Des Moines Committee on Foreign Relations is pleased to announce the second evening in our 2018-2019  Speakers Series on Wednesday, October 17th.  Our special guest is Dr. James Smith, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Aegis Trust, an international organization working to prevent genocide. Dr. Smith also co-founded the UK National Holocaust Center.  James will discuss the work Aegis is doing in South Sudan and the Central African Republic.

The meeting will be held at the Wakonda Club, with a meet-and-greet speaker's reception from 5:30pm-6:15pm, during which time heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served.  Dr. Smith will begin his presentation at 6:15pm, and a question and answer session will be held immediately after.  Tickets are $25 for members and guests - with special student discounts available.
