Event Description:
Democracy Boulevard will explore the link between public policy and the free market – from the very beginnings of our country. This program is targeted for a small group of Des Moines area business and community leaders.
Participants can expect to gain understanding of the tie between public policy, our form of democracy, and the free market – how those things have been intertwined since inception of the country.
As we follow the path of the birth of our country from Boston to Philadelphia to Washington, DC, we will explore American history, experience three historic American cities and their role in writing the American government narrative. This includes the formulation of our ideals and drafting our foundational documents such as the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights. We will also discover the creation of the business climate we have today and the framing of the economy that we currently build upon, including the central bank.
We have partnered with the American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL), a fifty year old bipartisan organization skilled in aiding policymakers and decision influencers to access and develop relationships with policymakers, business leaders and noted academics around the world. Several ACYPL alumni will play roles in the experience.
